This industrial building was constructed to house a leading Chicago manufacturer of union suits and other men┐s and women┐s underwear and exemplifies the importance of industry and manufacturing in the history of Chicago. It was built in two stages and is a fine example of a concrete-frame loft manufacturing building. The building┐s distinctive tower, designed to hide a water tank, is a visual landmark to the surrounding neighborhood and thousands of daily commuters on the adjacent Kennedy Expressway and Metra rail line.
