East Elevation, Photo by Bob Thall 1986 Proclaimed as the "Empress of the Queen Annes," this house's variegated roofline and exuberant use of materials make it one of the city's finest examples of the Queen Anne style of architecture. Its exceptional craftsmanship combines rough-cut stone, smooth brick, slate shingles, leaded glass, and pressed copper trim all to a striking effect. It was designed as the architect's residence, who lived here until 1931.
